Great Monday Give: Frog Went A-Courtin'

Another Great Monday Give... One of the books I was most terrified by as a child, but now understand to be utterly awesome, Frog Went A-Courtin'. I love this book (and song!) It's a childhood favorite. My daughter now has this same illustrator's version of "Over in the Meadow." Another great one!

I had a paperback copy of this edition as a kid - I was never crazy about it, but I remember my younger sister really liking the song. No need to enter me in the drawing, but thanks for the memory!

Love this book! I'm collecting the Newbery Medal books & have a few Caldecott winners too, so this would be great. =) Thanks for sharing!

Does the frog got a gun and a sword?
Count me in, please.

One question for you, do you know any illustrated book that the text is a small dialogue plus an image, and that´s not a story but each dialogue independent, and they have a recurrent character? The only thing I can think that can be related is Charles Addams one-panel gags for New Yorker.

Thanks for your help.

I love this song/book. When I was growing up I had a record of Burl Ives singing this song. I can still remember sitting in front of the record player listening to him.
