The First Christmas

The First Christmas
Robbie Trent ~ Marc Simont ~ Harper & Row, 1948

When you spend the morning with 17 kindergartners, painting 17 Christmas ornaments, wrapping 17 gifts for parents, and cleaning up 17 piles of scattered glitter, you don't have much more GO left.

That said, not to sell the Christ child short, but...This is Mary.

This is the donkey that Mary rode to Bethlehem.

This is Joseph who led the donkey that Mary rode.

And so on and so forth... Enjoy.

This, and Ezra Jack Keats' "Little Drummer Boy," were the two Christmas books I had as a child. Oh, how I love this one!! I was devastated that I couldn't find it in my boxes this year (where did I put it?!?) to share with my daughter. I had to run out and buy her the board book! (Not the same.) I just wrote about this one on my blog this week, too.

Congrats on the Spier autograph! What a find!
