Goodbye Roy...

I am going to post this as if it were Friday, because, in my mind it still is. There are so many other things I wanted to do and say this week. So many other Don Freeman book's I wanted to post on... Bearymore, Manuelo the Playing Mantis, Will's Quill... but time escaped me, so now it is Saturday morning and I am lamely pretending it is still Friday. So, without further boring you to tears with my life of woe, I want to thank Roy Freeman for being here this week and sharing so much of his father's life and his own heart with us. Roy has promised to come back soon and show us some rare books and unpublished illustrations, so in the meantime, join me in saluting Roy on a life well spent ~ in his own right (he illustrated the cover of and for all his has done to further his father's legacy.

That said, come back next week, for a brand new Great Monday Give and five days of books... I have so much great stuff backlogged now that I wanted to show you, not to mention the hundreds of books that have been on the back-burner for years. So so so many books... so little time.

Thanks, Scribbler, for posting my posts and making it possible for me to share my thoughts with your readers. I can't believe how much you did in that week! The comments to the posts mean a lot to me. I thank all for contributing their own words.
I did not create the cover to Manuelo, that was 100% Don. I did collect all the artwork and all of Don's text versions for Manuelo and sent those to the publisher. (That is why it says copyright Roy Freeman.) There is still another version: "Manuelo goes to Nashville" that I am going to try to get published if my time allows. It would be another "Don and Roy" collaboration.
Some artwork and stories of my own can be viewed on www.roysbooks.com. If you click around there, you will see some of the other things I do, like leading geological excursions... Bye for now!
