Great Monday Give: Plenty of Fish

Now that my son's birthday is in the past tense, I'm back to the world... and since I keep running into this one, I thought I'd spread the love. So here, for your winning pleasure, is a well-loved but still good hardcover copy of Plenty of Fish by Millicent Selsam with pics by Erik Blegvad. All you have to do to be entered to win is leave a comment on this post before midnight ~ May 10 ~ Sunday. The next day... I'll post the winner.

Oh, and by the way... the winner of Many Moons (last week's give) is The World of Julie. Contact me at webe(at)soon(dot)com to reap the benefits. That is all.

My sons loved this book as kids. I think we checked it out of the library every few weeks!

Our library doesn't have any Millicent Salsam books. So we have yet to read any of them. I keep hoping they will turn up somewhere in a used book pile or something but so far nothing. We would love to finally get a look at one.

I love browsing your site -it's like going back to the library I knew when I was still wearing colored kneesocks beneath scabby knees and chewed on my hair and hanging my damp coat up on the little metal hook and the nice-faced librarian looking up and smiling and then shelves and shelves of wonderful books. thanks!

Well, it isn't illustrated by Arnold Lobel, but it is Millicent! A fun way to educate my kids.

Love the oldies for my little ones. Thanks for all the great book ideas; you make me want to go to the library and used book store even more often than I already do.

I really like Eric Blegvad's illustrations. This book(saw pics in original post)looks like they are a bit different than his usual style.
