Great Monday Give: Umbrella

Happy Monday readers. Good to be alive. That said, brace yourself for today's Great Monday Give, the time when I give previously-loved vintage (and sometimes new editions of vintage) books away just for the heck of it. OK, it's not flip out quality, but I just wanted to get your hopes up. It is pretty cool though... an almost new, pretty nice paperback copy of the classic kids' book Umbrella by Taro Yashima. Right after I reviewed it, I came across a swanky Picture Puffin copy and scooped it up for the give. Please comment on this post before midnight ~ February 15 ~ Sunday for your chance to win it free of charge.

Without further yak yak, the winner of last week's give is Megan.... please send me your info to webe(at)soon(dot)com and I'll ship Pierre out to you today. Congrats and adios!

Your review of Umbrella made me add this book to a growing list called "find this!", so I'd love to be the lucky one to win this Great Monday Give: will keep my fingers crossed. Thank you for the opportunity. Best,
Gretchen

I remember seeing this book in the library when I worked there but I never was inspired to read it until I read your post.

I immediately added this to my "wish list" after your review- for some reason, I love umbrellas! This love took me completely by surprise, and I didn't realize it at all until my husband pointed out that two prints I had bought for our house both had umbrellas in them. And I've loved the other books I've tracked down that you've reviewed, so how could I not love this one, especially with my affection for umbrellas?!

I'll be a children's librarian soon, and I'm working on my personal collection. This would be a great addition. Thanks for sharing.
