Great Monday Give: The Little House

Can I just say here up front, that as much fun as I've had finding these books and sharing them with my son... the fact that you guys are out there doing the same thing for your kids (or yourself!) really makes it all the more worthwhile. The coolest part about the Etsy shop (other than cleaning out my house) has been the messages and positive feedback about how folks were reunited with childhood favorites they'd forgotten. Sometimes I start to feel like this blog is too time consuming and then I get a message like this:

Received this today and was very happy with it. It's in lovely condition. I've been looking for this book for 5 years and am so, so happy I found it through etsy with a totally fantastic seller on the other end.

Or this...

I was hoping this book was the one I loved when I was little and the seller was nice enough to look through the pages and find the one page that I could identify. Yay!! I'm so excited to be able to share this book with my children. Thank you for excellent service and a fabulous transaction!

Or one of you guys posts a comment here like this:

Somebody introduced me to your website, and I have a childhood flashback everyday... The book today just took me right back to age 5!!!! Thank you!

And this...

WOW! You've really made my day! I was just thinking about this book a few days ago. I had it when I was a kid and I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called! Thank you thank you thank you!

2008 was not the best of years for my family, but all of you have provided me with a wonderful distraction from life. Thank you a million times over!

That said... today's Great Monday Give is a very cool old library-bound copy of The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton. I love finding books with the old library binding, and this one is in great, tight condition... an excellent reading copy. All you have to do to be entered to win is comment on this post between now and midnight, Sunday ~ Jan 18. A winner will be picked at random and announced the following morning.

And without anymore chitchat this morning, the winner of last week's give... The Story of Ferdinand is james at 10engines. Congrats and e-mail me your info at webe(at)soon(dot)com.

Bye!

That said, my kids would LOVE this book. We do have a copy but it's in complete tatters and desperately needs to be replaced.
